Twice a year, as spring and fall roll around, the West End Resource Centre (WERC) sparks a sense of stewardship in our community with comprehensive neighbourhood clean-ups. These events are not just routine tasks; they symbolize our shared dedication to a cleaner, more sustainable environment, drawing a dedicated crowd of residents.

Our clean-ups involve litter pick-up, sweeping, and clearing the back parking lot at the West End Resource Centre. We also offer on-site free mattress drop-offs, as well as collection points for hazardous and electronic waste, highlighting responsible waste management.

We warmly invite all community members to join these impactful activities. We provide all necessary supplies like gloves, garbage pickers, bags, and maps to guide your efforts. Complimentary water and snacks are offered, and there may even be chances to win free prizes and gift cards.

Beyond the biannual clean-ups, we maintain constant vigilance over our community spaces, reporting issues like bulky waste, graffiti, illegal dumping, and stray shopping carts. For safe disposal of used needles, we have a 24-hour drop-off container in our rear parking lot.

Throughout the year, we encourage residents to utilize local resources like City of Winnipeg 4R Recycling Depots, West End BIZ Free Graffiti Removal, and Speedy Cart shopping cart collection.
