The DMSMRI Home Exterior Fix-Up Grant Program is designed to enhance the exterior quality, safety, and aesthetics of homes within the Daniel McIntyre and St. Matthews Neighbourhoods. The grants, which cover up to 75% of repair costs for homeowners and 50% for landlords, are geared towards various renovation tasks such as window replacement, roof repairs, and construction or repair of fences. The program's stipulations exclude interior renovations, underground foundation repairs, and garage or shed-related work.

Applicants, who must not have received this grant within the last five years, are required to provide two quotes from contractors or retailers (if self-performing), proof of home ownership, and pre-renovation photos. Approval is required before starting work.

Established in 2007, the DMSMRI program has disbursed over $780,000 in grants, benefiting 719 properties and generating an additional $1 million in investment from owners. The program is funded through a partnership with the Spence Neighbourhood Association and the City of Winnipeg.
